Please see the pricing information below to get an idea of typical per-word prices for the translation services offered. However, every job is different and approached on an individual basis, and the pricing ranges are provided as guidelines only. For example, discounts are available for regular customers, ongoing projects or large one-time projects. Also, please let me know if you have budget restrictions or other special requirements. I may be able to help find a cost-effective solution to your translation needs.
How much does a translation cost?
My per-word prices for translations from English to Finnish and from Finnish to English vary from 0.16 EUR (0.18 USD/0.11 GBP) to 0.22 EUR (0.25 USD/0.16 GBP). The prices depend on several factors:
– level of technicality of the subject matter
– total volume to be translated
– delivery deadline
– one-time or ongoing project
– etc.
A quote is given to you prior to the project’s start. This represents the total cost of the project. The quote can be modified if needed, for example by making it more specific or detailed. Once the quote has been accepted by you, I will proceed with the translation.
If additional work is required, for example more content to be translated is added after the quote has been accepted, I will keep you informed throughout the work process if and when any additional charges may be incurred so there are no surprise costs upon completion.
Invoices are generally issued upon project completion or, for ongoing projects, on a monthly basis.
Prices for Other Language Services
Proofreading, editing, writing and summarizing are charged on an hourly basis, prices starting from 35 EUR (40 USD/26 GBP) per hour. I will prepare a detailed quote outlining the total cost of your project based on the estimated workload. Thus, you will know exactly how much the project will cost before the project begins. Should the details of the commission change in the course of the project then the price will be adjusted accordingly.
